We are excited to announce that registration is now officially open for the 5th Houk Research Conference (HRC), which will be hosted here at the University of Pittsburgh from June 24–26, 2026.

Co-organized by Prof. Peng Liu and Prof. Zhongyue (John) Yang (Vanderbilt University), the 2026 HRC will convene under the theme "Bridging Computation, Experiment, and Data." The event will honor the distinguished career of Prof. Kendall N. Houk (UCLA) and celebrate the vibrant community of computational and experimental organic chemists he has inspired.
A Gathering of Leaders in the Field The conference will take place at the O'Hara Student Center on Pitt's Oakland campus. We have confirmed an outstanding lineup of 27 invited speakers who are pushing the frontiers of our field, including:
Kendall N. Houk (UCLA)
William L. Jorgensen (Yale University)
Yun-Dong Wu (Peking University)
And many others.
The program will feature lectures, panel discussions, and poster sessions designed to foster collaboration between computational and experimental chemists.
Experience Pittsburgh We are particularly proud to welcome colleagues to the Steel City. In addition to the scientific sessions, the registration fee includes a Pittsburgh City Tour on Thursday afternoon, giving attendees a chance to see the city's iconic bridges, the Duquesne Incline, and the cultural hub of Oakland.
Registration & Housing We have made every effort to keep the conference accessible:
Standard Registration: $400
Student Registration: $300
What's Included: Access to all sessions, the welcome reception dinner, breakfast and lunch (Thu/Fri), and the city tour.
Housing: Affordable on-campus suite-style housing is available for just $200 (flat rate for up to 4 nights).
