The Peng Liu Group took a well-deserved break from the computational cluster this week to celebrate the holiday season with some sharp competition. The group headed to Ace Axe Throwing in Homestead, PA, for an afternoon of team building and target practice.
Trading their keyboards for hatchets, group members tested their aim and precision in a high-energy tournament. It was a fantastic opportunity to unwind and enjoy each other's company outside the lab environment.
Annual Trivia Competition
Following the axe throwing, the group continued the celebration with our annual Christmas Trivia tradition. The competition was fierce, testing our knowledge on everything from our research group to the city of Pittsburgh.
Ultimately, the team confidentially named "The Winners" lived up to their title. Congratulations to Grace Scofield, Seth Fremin, and Dr. Thomas Tugwell for claiming victory in this year's game!

Alumni Reunion
We were especially happy to welcome back our recent graduate, Dr. Thomas Tugwell, who joined us for the festivities. Thomas, who successfully defended his Ph.D. earlier this year, is now working as a Senior Scientist at Avista Therapeutics here in Pittsburgh. It was wonderful to catch up and see him thriving in his new industrial role.
Happy Holidays from the Liu Group!
